Bulk SMS
Bulk SMS is the dissemination of large numbers of SMS messages for delivery to mobile phone terminals. It is used by Schools, media companies, enterprises, banks for a variety of purposes including entertainment, enterprise and mobile marketing. Bulk messaging is commonly used for alerts, reminders, marketing but also for information and communication between both staff and customers. Bulk messaging lets you deliver SMS messages to mobile handsets almost anywhere in the world.
Promotional Bulk SMS

Promotional SMS route is allowed to only NON-DND numbers in India, as per TRAI guidelines. Such promotional messages have to be sent through operators on specific six digits numeric like BT-138907, where BT stand for BSNL TAMILNADU and numbers belongs to telemarketers to keep the record with TRAI & operators.

Note: There is a time regulation for this service. This bulk promotional SMS can be sent between 9 AM to 9PM only.

Transactional Bulk SMS

The transactional SMS route is very specific in nature; this can be sent to DND or NON-DND. This type of SMS service can be used for alerts and updates. The content should purely be transactional in nature; it should not carry any promotional content. It can be sent through web panel on a specific six digits alpha like BT-NETHRA where BT signifies BSNL TAMILNADU.

Reports for Bulk SMS

Nethra Technologies has its own SMSC which handles routing, forwarding and storing incoming information on their way to desired endpoints. Here, the operator’s channels are connected from which our SMSC can fetch the reports in real time and feature them in our software simultaneously which can later be downloaded in CSV format. Such reports carry the below details:

  • Date & Time
  • Transaction ID along with Numbers
  • Submit time & Delivery time
  • Delivery status with reason
  • Seconds wise delivery reports
  • Live Automatic NDNC scrubbing
  • Sender ID (a 6 digit numeric code like BT (operator code)-005605 (telemarketer code) wise reports

    Templates: There is no fix content for transactional SMS
    DND & Non DND: There are number of mobile users who don’t want to receive the promotional content on their numbers are registering themselves with TRAI/ Operators to stop the promotional content on their numbers, they known as DND numbers rest are NON-DND numbers.
    Sender ID: Sender ID for promotional bulk SMS is of six digit numeric code with operator code like BT-005605 where BT is operator code & 005605 is telemarketer code.
    Long Code Services
    LA long code service basically involves providing a 10 digit number that enables a business to receive Bulk SMS messages from anywhere in the world. Long Codes are intended for person-to-person (P2P) communication. These will be active 24/7 where you can create any number of keywords\sub keywords and you can receive unlimited requests per month for free. Once you start receiving messages from your customer, it will automatically initiate the process in the main panel. At the same time it will also start segregating based on the assigned keywords. If the message does not coincide with any of the predefined keyword, the main panel will automatically enable a reply by sending them a SMS or a Voice call.
